Product Description
Bees, and hearts, and not much empty space between them. The outline is lobed rather than plain, and across the face of the heart the openwork carries a pair of winged bees set among curls that close into heart shapes, all of it gathered into a small loop at the point. The pattern is dense, so the ball behind it is only half-visible: from a step away the pendant reads first as a silver heart full of moving detail and second as something with a stone-coloured centre. Left side hinge, small beaded clasp on the right, two halves that open by hand.
Two symbols doing two different jobs, which is why this one sells outside the obvious search terms. The heart carries the love, plainly and without needing to be explained. The bee carries the person: the one everybody called honey, or Bee, or the busy bee who never sat down, the beekeeper, the gardener whose whole summer was the hive, the grandmother whose kitchen smelled of it. Buyers arrive with that association already made and they look for the bee — which is worth knowing for your listings and your tags, because `bee jewelry` and `honey bee necklace` are searched by people who are shopping for a gift, not only by people who are grieving. That is also why the piece works as a present between people: worn with the silver ball it is simply an openwork silver heart; with the gold, rose gold or iridescent one it is a heart with a coloured centre, and the bee detail is what people notice and comment on.
The limits, stated as carefully as the features. Inside is a stainless steel ball that opens on a screw thread and holds a small amount: a pinch of ashes, a lock of hair, a little fur, sand, or dried petals from flowers that were sent. It is closed by hand and is not sold as sealed or airtight — where permanence is wanted, that is arranged by the buyer rather than promised here, and the same sentence belongs in your listing so nobody buys it expecting a sealed vessel. The practical questions to answer on the page are how to fill it (a funnel or a rolled slip of paper, a small amount only, the rest left empty) and whether it shows when worn (not beyond the colour of the ball).
Fits 18mm urn balls. Copper cage with a silver plating front and back, and a stainless steel ball that keeps its finish through daily wear rather than dulling where the hands touch it. Shown on a silver tone cable chain, sold separately.

| Symbolism |
Two symbols, two meanings. The heart carries the love. The bee carries the person — the one who was called honey, the busy bee, the beekeeper, the gardener. Because the bee is a familiar motif rather than a mourning one, the pendant passes as ordinary jewelry and can be given as a gift as easily as it can be worn after a loss. |
