DIY Customizable Celtic Knot Pearls Cage Pendant

A slender teardrop, longer than it is wide, and inside it a piece of drawn lace. The pattern is built in three registers. At the very top a small four-pointed star is cut clean through the metal. Below it, two mirrored foliage scrolls climb the neck and their curled tips meet in the middle around a tall almond-shaped opening — the shape a fleur-de-lis is built from, drawn here in outline rather than filled. Then the cage widens and the lower half opens into a four-petal rosette, four pointed-oval petals crossing at a centre, with one more almond cut below to finish the point.

Of everything in this family, this is the one with an antique accent. It sits closest to pierced goldwork and Victorian mourning jewellery, and it sells to a different customer than the welded cages do: the buyer who says vintage, heirloom, Victorian, Downton, or asks whether it looks old. Give that buyer the language — symmetry that reads as hand-drawn rather than machined, negative space doing as much work as the metal — and give the modern buyer the plain facts, because the same piece also works as a delicate everyday pendant on a longer chain.

Two practical notes for the listing. First, the silhouette is vertical: 24.9mm tall against 12.7mm wide, so it hangs like a drop rather than sitting like a disc, and it photographs best at a lower neckline on a chain of 45cm or longer. Second, the openings are wide and the ball shows through as a broad soft glow across the middle, which suits a pearl better than a flashier stone — worth saying out loud, because it explains why the piece looks lit from within on the styled shots.
